    On behalf of the Monterey County Health Department, the Arts Council is seeking original works of art for a special  juried show :Home Grown Health" at the new Monterey County Health Department Building, 1270 Natividad Road, Salinas. The deadline is May 13, 2012 Send email to Klara Hickmanova at for complete guidelines and application or download at under "Call to artists" in What's Happening. NOTE: All works are on loan to the County for a period not to exceed one year. All works will be on sale to the public via the Arts Council website (except as prohibited by the artist). The Council retains 30% of the total proceeds to support arts education in Monterey County. All accepted works are insured from the time of delivery to the County Building until time of pick up (not to exceed $4,000 value.) The focus for this year's exhibit is the environment with your perspective of food, flowers, fish, farms, farmers’ markets or water that will inspire the viewer to appreciate the beauty around us.
