The Monterey County Film Commission, in collaboration with the Museum of Monterey (MOM), brings a screening of the film, “Riot on Sunset Strip” and a film student film “A Fly in the Room” to the film series “9 Films Marking 1967.” Back in 1967, the movie was filmed and released just six weeks after the actual teenage rioting that occurred in December 1966 on the Los Angeles Sunset Strip. It was directed by Arthur Dreifuss, and stars Aldo Ray, Mimsy Farmer and Michael Evans. The screening is held in conjunction with the MOM’s 2012 exhibition, “Music, Love and Flowers: Youth & Culture Monterey 1967 & Now,” which reflects some of the cultural changes of that time 45 years ago.
