    Aromas Day is a day of fun for everyone with live music all day, wonderful food, lots of goodies to find in our vendor booths and Art in front of the park with wonderful artworks by the Aromas Hills Artisans.

    The day starts with a Grange country-style breakfast featuring eggs, pancakes, ham & sausage from 7 - 11am. Enjoy pony rides, games for kids and the petting zoo. See classic cars and scale the climbing wall. There's a mix of acts on the main stage offering free entertainment all day long; the highlight of the day is the parade through town at 2 pm.

     After a day of racing at the FIM Superbike World Championship, motorcycle enthusiasts from around the world come together to celebrate at the area’s most popular after party on Cannery Row, known for its endless fun and entertainment. More than 2,500 riders will show off their bikes and once the row is filled, the party begins.
    Motorcyclists, and those who share an appreciation for bikes, are invited to Race Night on the Row to view thousands of pristine race bikes from around the world on display, and enjoy the flavorful cuisine of the many restaurants and clubs lining Cannery Row.

    Virtuoso organist and principal keyboardist Andrew Arthur will perform three organ recitals during the 2017 Festival. The first will showcase the new Dobson tracker organ at St. Dunstan's Episcopal Church in Carmel Valley, Wednesday, July 12 at 7:30 pm and features a wide range of repertoire from all eras. Composers include Buxtehude, Bach, Alain, Howells and Andriessen.  The other performances are the traditional Carmel Mission Basilica All Bach Monday organ recitals. The July 17 and 24 concerts begin at 11:00 am and showcase Arthur's keyboard genius in the beautiful and iconic Carmel Mission.

    Arthur is Director of Music at Trinity Hall, Cambridge, England.

Old Monterey Foundation will hold a “Picnic in the Park – Lower Presidio Historic Park” on Saturday, July 1, 2017. Bring your friends and family to this “FUNdraiser” and enjoy great food, live entertainment, historic reenactments, walking tours, costume contests, scavenger hunt, prizes and much more. Enjoy spectacular views of the beautiful Monterey Bay, Old Fisherman’s Wharf and the Monterey Harbor at this park that is hidden in plain view. See the “before”, which is now and what we envision the “after” to be! Old Monterey Foundation is raising funds to develop trails and interpretive sign for all the monuments to enhance and restore this park which is considered “The Most Historically Significant Site on the West Coast”.

     The California Rodeo Salinas is one of the top 20 regular season rodeos in the US and draws over 600 of the best cowboys and cowgirls across America to compete for almost $400,000 in prize money and the coveted gold and silver Salinas belt buckle. This annual event also draws over 50,000 fans to the Salinas Sports Complex each year to see action-packed rodeo events such as bull riding, team roping, steer wrestling, saddle bronc riding and more. The track that surrounds the arena is also full of action, including horse races, specialty performances, barrel racing, mutton busting and several other crowd-pleasing events.

    Call for Artists: Registration is Open for the 27th Annual Monterey County Artists Open Studio Tour

    September 23-October 1, 2017

    The Monterey County Artists Open Studio Tour is an annual, self-guided tour of artist studios and exhibition spaces across the county. The Tour will take place September 23 & 24 in Peninsula, Coastal and Carmel Valley Locations and September 30 & October 1 in Salinas, Salinas Valley, and North & South County Locations. Registration forms and fees must be postmarked by the following dates:
    May 5, 2017, for a registration fee of $225, June 16, 2017, final day to register, for a fee of $300. Participants are welcome to participate one weekend or two, but must participate during the weekend that focuses on their location. There is no additional cost to participate both weekends, unless the participant will be located at a different location each weekend. The fee for two locations is your base fee plus 50%.

    Arts Habitat, the presenters of the Tour, is making available venues for participants who do not have art studios or who choose not to open theirs to the public: the Oldemeyer Center in Seaside, the Carl Cherry Center in Carmel, Hidden Valley in Carmel Valley, Elkhorn Slough Foundation’s Porter Ranch House, model homes at East Garrison, and several River Road Wine Trail Association wineries.
